With Penn State off to its best start ever in the early verbal commitment rat race, what I’d like to do in the first part of this “Phil Grosz’s Inside Look at Penn State Football” is list for you the top 20 prospects from the Class of 2013 among the 60-plus verbal scholarship offers from Penn State that I believe Bill O’Brien and his staff need to recruit the hardest to meet the recruiting needs that presently exist on Penn State’s roster. Back when Urban Meyer was named Ohio State’s head football coach at the end on November 2012, skeptics of how Meyer ran his football program at Florida promoted his critics to say, “Meyer is going to bring SEC recruiting tactics to the Big Ten.”
That wasn’t meant to be a complimentary comment from Meyer’s critics, because they were referencing with that quote the fact Meyer planned to keep recruiting players even if they had already verbally committed to another Big Ten school. Continue Reading
